Samantha Weckesser of Mama Hen Media

Samantha Weckesser is not only the owner and operator of a local, woman-owned business that support Girls on the Run of Greater Rochester, but she is ALSO a GOTR mom, and volunteer coach! Recently, Sam appeared on The Giveback Model podcast, which can be heard HERE.  In this episode, Christine (the host of the podcast) and Samantha discuss the story behind Mama Hen Media, the importance of mental health and self-care, and how Mama Hen Media's giveback program to GOTR Rochester helps inspire and empower women and girls.

This is what Sam has to say about being a GOTR mom, volunteer coach, and sponsor:

My involvement with GOTR began when my oldest daughter, Zoey, participated in the program in the fall of 2021.  Seeing the positive impact that GOTR had on Zoey's confidence and social skills inspired me to become more involved.  I even rediscovered my love of running when I signed up to be Zoey's running buddy in the celebratory 5K.
As a business owner and advocate of giving back, I saw an opportunity to support GOTR by becoming a sponsor and contributing to the program financially.  I'm proud to support the GOTR mission of inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.
I also became a volunteer coach, where I have the privilege of implementing the dynamic lessons of the program and helping young girls develop important life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and leadership.  In the fall of 2022, all three of my daughters were old enough to participate in GOTR, and Ariana and Vivian were inspired by Zoey's positive experience to join as well.   As a coach, I have seen firsthand the positive impact that GOTR has had on my own daughters, and I want to help provide that same experience for other girls in the community.

We are so grateful to have your support Samantha. It is because of volunteers and sponsors like you that our program can reach 1,400 girls annually in the Rochester area!
